Hearts on a Stick

Simple Valentine paper heart crafts for toddlers and preschoolers. These make great gift tags or mini Valentine cards.

What You Need:

  • paper or cardboard hearts cut out - Valentine Heart Template
  • paddle pop sticks or straws
  • masking tape (can use sticky or double sided tape)

What To Do:

  1. Tear off enough little pieces of masking tape for the number of hearts/sticks
  2. Tape paddle pop stick to the heart
  3. For mini Valentine cards your toddler can decorate the hearts or "write" a little "love note" on it

Sequins Decorated Hearts

This is a fun Valentine craft activity for preschool kids and older toddlers (with the help of Mom).

Note: You can of course use pva glue for this activity - however it is messier and requires drying time.

What You Need:

What To Do:

  1. Print out the large Valentine Heart Template - onto white or red paper
  2. Tear off small pieces of double sided tape and stick to the edge of table ready to stick onto heart
  3. Stick double sided tape along the heart outline - tear off the backing paper as you go
  4. When done stick on sequins
  5. Finish off by sprinkling glitter over the gaps then shake off excess glitter
  6. Can draw or write on the inside of heart

Cupid's Arrows

This is a super easy Valentine craft activity to do with toddlers - although preschoolers will enjoy playing with them more. They also make great Valentines Day Decorations.

What You Need:

  • large paddle pop stick
  • small Valentine Heart Template
  • red/gold/white paper/card
  • feather - red or white
  • pva glue & paint brush
  • glitter - red or gold

Note: Use paint instead of glue and glitter - especially if your preschooler is going to play with these more than making them for decoration.

What To Do:

  1. Print out the small Valentine Heart Template - onto red/gold/white paper or card
  2. Cut out and glue 1 heart onto one end of stick
  3. Glue a feather onto other end of the stick for the arrow's "tail"
  4. Use the paint brush to spread a little glue onto the rest of the stick
  5. Sprinkle on glitter and let dry

Toilet Paper Roll Cupid

Easy and cheap Valentine craft activity for kids. They can also be used as Valentines Day Decorations.

What You Need:

  • toilet paper roll
  • red or white paint
  • paint brush
  • 2 feathers - red or white
  • marker pen
  • wood wool, pillow stuffing, paper shreds or pieces of yarn/wool for hair
  • pva glue
  • gold/silver/red glitter - optional
  • pipe cleaner & hole punch - only if want to hang up as decoration

What To Do:

  1. Paint toilet roll and let dry. Optional - sprinkle with glitter while paint is wet for a sparkly cupid.
  2. Once dry, brush a little glue on the inside of one end of the toilet roll and stick on the wood wool, pillow stuffing, paper shreds or yarn/wool - anything that resembles hair really.
  3. Glue on cupid's wings - feathers.
  4. Draw a face for cupid.
  5. If hanging up as decoration, punch a hole on back side of cupid's head and insert pipe cleaner.
